Slo Brew Distillery is a modern, energy-efficient facility located in San Luis Obispo, designed to revitalize a key community space and celebrate the region’s craft beverage culture. The building was transformed from an existing structure, integrating sustainable practices and advanced distilling technology. Interesting features include the repurposing of original slabs, installation of new trench drains, and thoughtful coordination with local architects and engineers to ensure the space supports both production and public tasting events. The distillery serves as a vibrant gathering place, enhancing the local economy and offering a unique destination for residents and visitors alike.
BMA Mechanical+ provided comprehensive mechanical engineering services for the project, including HVAC design, plumbing, fire protection, and Title 24 energy compliance. Our scope covered the design integration of new waste, vent, and potable water systems, selection of energy-efficient equipment, and coordination with structural and architectural teams to meet California’s strict building and sustainability codes.
