BMA Mechanical+ has been a trusted engineering partner to People’s Self-Help Housing since 1995, beginning with designing the organization’s former office building. Our partnership continued with Villas at Higuera in 2005 and has grown to include several affordable housing communities throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
We collaborate with architects and project teams to provide coordinated mechanical and plumbing design for People’s Self-Help Housing developments across both counties. Through this long-standing relationship, BMA supports People’s Self-Help Housing’s work to expand access to safe, comfortable, and reliable housing. Our designs prioritize resident comfort, energy efficiency, practical maintenance, and dependable long-term performance. These projects serve families, seniors, farmworkers, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and people transitioning out of homelessness, helping strengthen communities across the Central Coast.
Our work with People’s Self-Help Housing includes both completed and in progress:
These developments reflect decades of collaboration and a shared commitment to creating affordable homes that support housing stability, resident well-being, and stronger local communities.
